"Hi, I'm Keelan Knight
World Nunchaku Champion 2008
I am a very dedicated student and I am currently a Black Belt (junior level) in Ju-Jitsu training towards my first Gold Tab. I have been doing Ju-Jitsu for over 5 years now. I am working with Shane Mason in Black Belt and really hope this carries on.
I started Ju-Jitsu at Heron Hill Primary School, I was picked out of a hat to go on a 5 week self defence course. From there I started at the Ju-Jitsu club. I first took my white belt in September 2003 and 5 years late most recently achieved my Black belt in Ju-Jitsu in October 2008. It feels like I have achieved lots in that time. I really love being a black belt, as the classes get harder and the warm up gets longer and longer!

I started practising sport nunchaku over 3 years ago with Sensei Smith and still can't wait for the next class to start. We do a mixture of things in the class including: pad work, free sparring, application, combat, kata and last of all one of my favourite parts 'Tricks'.
Sensei gave me the honour of naming a nunchaku trick that I developed called "pinball".
Through the nunchaku lessons I went to the World Championships in Switzerland in March 2008. The scenery and views were amazing.
It was like a gateway to heaven. I competed in the championships over there and returned back to England with a 1st place Gold Medal, The World Nunchaku Champion 2008. The experience was fantastic. As soon as I won the last fight I leapt in the air, I was SO proud of myself, so was sensei. It meant loads to me, I REALLY wanted it. Soon after,
I started doing demonstrations in schools throughout Carlisle with Tom Miles and Shane Mason. Once you've done a demo, you feel really proud of yourself, and you have this feeling like you want to do it again and again. It feels brill to get the applause from the audience. I want to thank Sensei smith for teaching me and grading me through all the belts. If it weren't for my Sensei I wouldn't be where I am today. Thank U for everything Sensei!
